Sometimes, with kids, there just isn't time to adjust the settings on my camera.
Sometimes a moment is just that--a moment--and if I take my eyes off my little guy and his rainboots I will completely miss it.
So I point and shoot and pray and hope that I am capturing something
other than the glare of headlights from the car warming up in the driveway
or the shadow from the garage door that is open, turning raindrops into puddles.
Please let me just catch a little of his excitement. A little of his oh-my-gosh-it's-raining-in-December-and-for-some-reason-I-have-rainboots-on-and-not-snowboots enthusiasm. Something besides glare and shadows.
Something like being two and wearing rainboots and stumbling across a puddle in the entrance of your grandparents' garage. Sheer, unadulterated joy at such luck.
Then taking your new moose and heading out in the rain toward home.
Sometimes I have to just wing it. I have to tackle that moment and capture it.
And sometimes, it works.

I LOVE those moments and I HATE when you can't capture them just right, but this one you did =)
