Sponsor Love! Upper Valley Connections

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge one of my new sponsors and provide you local readers with a fabulous parenting resource.  I'm sure you are already familiar with them, but in case you're not...

Upper Valley Connections is an invaluable resource to parents in the Upper Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont.  When I first moved here from San Diego, I had no one to fill me in on the local parenting scene and the many opportunities for parents and kids to interact.  Once I found Upper Valley Connections, my life literally changed.  I was able to access their great community calendar with listings of local story times, mommy and me yoga classes, and other events for kids and parents.  It was through these types of activities that I was able to make connections with other parents that eventually grew into friendships.  I'm so happy to say that my network of mommy friends is the reason that I was able to make the transition to life here, which was so different to my previous experiences and more urban lifestyles.  They are my sanity, for sure!

With Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center so close, there are literally hundreds of people who are transplanted here every year, usually in the early stages of their lives and careers.  These people grow to love the Upper Valley and want to settle down here to raise a family, but being new to the area, might find the transition to parenthood a bit daunting.  UVC's website offers parenting resources in over 50 subjects, from childcare to farmer's markets.  There is also a blog with links and tutorials for crafts and activities.  I am going to be writing a weekly post over there starting next week, so I'll continue to keep you posted on any local events that catch my eye!  For example, there will be an Easter newsletter printed next week; worth looking into, for sure!

If you live locally, I highly suggest you go peruse this site when you have a few moments and get to know it--I bet you'll be there on a weekly or maybe even daily basis!  I actually just discovered a new storytime that we're going to hit up tomorrow at the new Kilton library.  I'm so glad I took a moment to check the calendar!  And by liking UVC on Facebook here, you'll get events and notices sent right to your newsfeed.  You may even see "Rub Some Dirt On It" featured soon!
