From Blah To Blown Away

What a day today ended up becoming.  A humbling, exciting, flattering, overwhelming, happy day.

What a humdrum day today was threatening to be, the highlight of which was an impromptu lunch with a friend.  But as great as lunch was, it was over by noon and then I still had the rest of the day to go.  JDubbs is out for an evening meeting so I had the kids to myself all day, without a break since Em has decided naps are for wussies.  One of those long, mundane, more-tv-than-usually-allowed-kind-of-days.  Blah.

Speaking of blah, I've had the blogging blahs lately.  I feel like I'm not writing anything noteworthy and that although I love my photos, they're not remarkable to anyone who isn't related to my kids.  Not to mention much of my little free time is sucked up by networking and editing and posting and tweeting... Blah.  I needed a boost.

Well, tonight, while putting Em to bed for the second time (first time didn't go over so well), she was asleep on my shoulder and I was checking my email on my phone.  I started noticing lots of blog comments, so I went over to my blogging homepage to check out my stats.  Hmmmm.  What is this referring url from For The Love of Blogs?  Featured?  Could it be?

Yes!  Remember how I submitted a summary of my blog in the hopes of getting it featured on FTLOB, a website I love and admire?  Well, today was the day!  That in itself is enough to turn my frown upside down, but I have to personally thank all of the wonderful ladies who went out of their way to comment on my feature, giving me good wishes, congratulations, and positive reinforcement.  Some of the commenters read my blog and have been in my bloggy life for a while; others were strangers.  Either way, they took the time to say something kind and I am so completely blown away by it.  I am going to take a screen shot of all the comments as soon as JDubbs gets home and shows me how, to keep in a file somewhere and pull out the next time I am stricken with the blogging blahs.  People do like it!  Hooray!

What a day.  A day to brush away the blahs and invigorate me.  To reinspire and rejuvenate my case of the doldrums.  I feel so amazed by the supportive network that is the mommy blogging community, so grateful that I'm a part of it, and so happy that today turned out to be such a great day.  Thank you all, again.

Yours is one of my very, very favorite blogs to read. Trust me, your blah's were not evident in your recent posts ;) I do get what you mean though, sometimes it seems like a fruitless effort...you spend hours agonizing and crafting your words, post it and then you're met with the sound of crickets chirping...maybe a tumbleweed or two rolls across the screen. Well, don't stop and congrats on your feature. You keep me entertained and always coming back for more :)
