If Jax ever had any interest in potty training, it has completely ceased. We are at an utter standstill. We beg. We bribe. We cajole. We read books. We make up potty songs. When will this boy become interested in potty training?
Well, here's a ploy I hadn't thought of. Daddy is taking matters into his own hands to illustrate the joys of using a big boy potty and wearing big boy underwear. On his head?
Hey, these are desperate times, and we will do whatever is necesssary to get this kid out of diapers so we can stop paying for them! Even if it involves getting a little silly. Who cares? The sillier, the better!
Any other ideas?

Hilarious! Everyone tells me to just wait until he's almost 3. Then, he will just do it. No worries.
My oldest is 3.5 and we are no where near. I'm hoping by 4. He thinks it's hilarious to #1 all over the floor.
I hear the naked thing works. For us, it just led to puddles of pee everywhere...
I have no advice to give...just a nod and a wink.
Too funny!! Love it!!
I got nothing for you. My daughter was potty trained by 2 and the boys were harder. I know that more people wait until they are closer to three now. I have a friend who "potty" trained by letting her boys do things like go on the tree (it was okay no one lived close). I kinda felt like that was housebreaking them though. LOL!
Awwww... too cute!!! I'm slowly working up the potty training to my soon-to-be 2 year old. I'm doing the books, the potty movies, and the talks. In another month, I'll really be in potty training mode. Good luck!!
Love the pics...!! After trying to potty train my son I can to the conclusion that it's like trying to pick up jello with a net...it just doesn't happen.
My MIL kept telling me, don't worry he won't start kindergarten in diapers... He starts kindergarten in the Fall...sans diapers!! Sending you the best of luck!!!
xx
As a former preschool teacher, boys are way harder, and it's totally normal if they're not potty trained by 3. In my opinion, the naked thing works best, or just put them in underwear. Once they realize how uncomfortable it is to be in wet/dirty underwear, they start to use the toilet more. Also, I don't believe in pull ups. SO just jump from diapers to underwear :)
I am in THE SAME BOAT and Kyle is going to be 3 next month! I feel like SUCH a failure as a Mommy but he has NO interest and just does not want to go. My Mom and my neighbor (who has 2 boys)told me not to stress. he will get uncomfortable in his diapers soon enough. I have been trying to bring them in the bathroom at least once a day to even just sit on the toilet..even fuly clothed but they won't. Still NO interest. You are NOT ALONE Mama =)
He will do it when he is ready. Plan and simple as that. Don't stress out about it. I promise he will let you know when he is ready. All kids are different. Ethan showed an interest at about 2.5. Doctors say boys are around 3 years of age. Have you bought a potty book? Hang in there Becky! :) This too shall pass!
When my son was 3.5, I had tried everything. He would do it for a little while, then regress. I kept using those pull-ups, hoping they'd work, but they ended up just being an overpriced stand in for a diaper. His pre-school teacher finally said "just send him in his underwear, and send a few spares." After peeing in them once, he decided he didn't like being wet and started using the potty.
It'll happen eventually. He just needs to find his motivation. Good luck!
Thanks to everyone for making me feel less alone! We'll probably go the naked route as soon as it's warm enough. Every diaper change is a battle-I'm ready for this stage to be done!
I have 4 boys. Sometimes....watching daddy while daddy does big boy pee pee in the potty...well, as fun as that sounds, it really does make the little guys want to do it as well. You know, always wanting to be just like daddy and all that. Have you tried that yet? If not, it's worth a shot.
Get it -- a shot? as in a shot in the potty, how they need to aim?
Okay, not the best joke...but hey, it's almost midnight. I'm supposed to be off duty by now.
I'm a new follower :)

(this is my second comment on your blog...in my first one I said I'm a new follower, too. I don't know why I'm repeating myself. Oh wait, yea I do. It's almost midnight. That explains it.)
My boy took way longer to potty train than the girls! If you wanna have fun, throw some Cheerios in the toilet and have them do "target practice"! LOL
Yeah...don't look our way for advice. Our oldest nearly wrecked us with his potty training. Best of luck and I hope things go well for you :)
Okay, Jax potty training, put a piece of toilett paper i the toilet, see how many times, he can hit the toilet paper, until it is obliviated, sunk whatever. Bet u have tried bribing him you. Oh if you want this.....
or the threat the easter bunny is coming and if I have to call him. he ice cream man is coming and if you want one then u can't go in your pants.
